Job Description Header: 

We are looking for Direct Tax and Statutory analyst with expertise in preparation of corporate income tax processes and statutory audit activities within the GBDS in scope countries within the Asia region.

Job Responsibilities

  • Primarily responsible for the daily execution of Record to Report (R2R) direct tax and statutory audit processes in line with country regulations, corporate guidelines, internal procedures, and departmental goals.
  • Execute activities in compliance with local tax regulations, established accounting principles, policies, and procedures.
  • Ensure regulatory compliance, adherence to internal controls, fulfillment of Service Level Agreement (SLA) requirements, and adoption of efficient workflows and best practices within the Record to Report function.
  • Understand and address process deviations and exceptions through effective call and email handling.
  • Maintain positive working relationships with cross-functional teams and business partners.
  • Implement operational changes and process improvements.
  • Act as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) for assigned processes, driving standardization and automation initiatives, including cross-functional projects.
  • Coordinate and perform direct tax and statutory activities for GBDS-relevant Operating Companies (OpCos) with medium to high complexity.
  • Ensure timely and accurate preparation and submission of tax filings, tax payments, and statutory reports for medium and complex entities.
  • Support tax audits by preparing required documentation and information in collaboration with Local Tax Managers and Corporate Tax teams.
  • Prepare reconciliations of direct tax and statutory positions for assigned OpCos.
  • Analyze tax and statutory-related reports to identify and resolve discrepancies.
  • Prepare, analyze, and deliver complex quantitative and qualitative reports in accordance with established formats and procedures.
  • Participate in and support operational projects, Continuous Improvement (CI), and Digitalization Initiatives (DI).

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, Taxation, or a related discipline, with relevant experience in Record-to-Report (R2R), direct tax, statutory reporting or audit processes.
  • Strong knowledge of local tax regulations, statutory compliance requirements, accounting principles and internal control frameworks.
  • Proven ability to prepare and review tax filings, tax reconciliations, statutory reports and audit documentation for medium to complex entities.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to manage exceptions, resolve discrepancies and collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
  • Experience driving process improvements, standardization, automation initiatives and continuous improvement projects within a shared services or multinational environment.
