Job Responsibilities:
Regulatory Compliance & Product Stewardship
- Provide regulatory review, assessment and approval support for product formulations, ingredients, specifications, packaging, labels, claims, communications and marketing materials to ensure compliance with applicable regulatory requirements.
- Support innovation, renovation and commercial projects by identifying regulatory requirements, assessing compliance implications and providing practical recommendations throughout the product lifecycle.
- Evaluate proposed product claims, communications and promotional materials to ensure compliance with relevant legislation, codes, guidelines and company policies.
- Support product registration activities, regulatory submissions and technical documentation requirements where applicable.
- Ensure regulatory considerations are appropriately integrated into project planning and commercialisation activities.
- Contribute to the maintenance of regulatory compliance frameworks, procedures and governance processes supporting the Company's product portfolio.
Regulatory Risk Management & Governance
- Identify, assess and communicate regulatory risks that may impact business operations, product compliance, market access or corporate reputation.
- Conduct regulatory impact assessments and provide recommendations to support informed business decision making.
- Support the development and implementation of regulatory compliance strategies, controls and governance processes.
- Maintain and strengthen regulatory compliance databases, product compliance templates, nutrient verification records, product registration information and related documentation repositories.
- Contribute to internal compliance reviews, audits and monitoring activities aimed at strengthening regulatory governance and continuous improvement.
- Escalate significant regulatory risks, compliance concerns or emerging issues to management in a timely manner.
Regulatory Intelligence & Business Advisory
- Monitor and interpret emerging legislation, regulatory developments, policy changes, industry trends and enforcement activities relevant to DLMI's business.
- Assess business implications arising from new or amended regulatory requirements and communicate potential impacts to relevant stakeholders.
- Provide timely regulatory guidance and advisory support to internal stakeholders on regulatory requirements, compliance obligations and business risks.
- Translate complex regulatory requirements into practical business recommendations that support both compliance and commercial objectives.
- Maintain awareness of market developments, competitor claims and industry practices to support regulatory assessments and strategic decision making.
- Support the development of business positions and responses relating to regulatory consultations and industry matters.
Advocacy, External Engagement & Regulatory Affairs Representation
- Support engagement with government agencies, regulatory authorities, industry associations and relevant external stakeholders on matters affecting the business.
- Assist in preparing regulatory dossiers, technical justifications, position papers and supporting documentation required for submissions, consultations and stakeholder engagements.
- Participate in industry working groups, technical committees and relevant external forums as assigned.
- Support advocacy initiatives aimed at promoting science-based, practical and business-enabling regulatory outcomes.
- Build and maintain constructive professional relationships with relevant external stakeholders and industry partners.
- Represent DLMI professionally in regulatory and industry engagements consistent with Company policies and approved positions.
Capability Building & Organisational Enablement
- Promote awareness and understanding of regulatory requirements across the organisation.
- Design, coordinate and deliver training, knowledge-sharing sessions and compliance awareness initiatives for relevant stakeholders.
- Support cross-functional teams in understanding and implementing applicable regulatory requirements within their areas of responsibility.
- Develop practical guidance materials, tools and resources to strengthen organisational compliance capability.
- Foster a proactive compliance culture through education, engagement and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Contribute to building organisational readiness for evolving regulatory requirements and industry expectations.
Cross-Functional Collaboration & Project Support
- Partner with Commercial, R&D, Supply Chain, Quality and other functions to support business initiatives requiring regulatory input.
- Provide regulatory support to innovation, renovation, productivity, sustainability and business transformation projects.
- Facilitate effective communication and alignment between internal stakeholders on regulatory matters affecting project delivery and business priorities.
- Support timely and compliant execution of business initiatives while balancing regulatory requirements and commercial objectives.
- Contribute to enterprise-wide initiatives where regulatory expertise is required.
Job Requirements:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Food Science, Food Technology, Nutrition, Biology, Biomedical Science, Chemistry, Biotechnology, Life Sciences, or a related discipline. Professional certifications in Regulatory Affairs, Food Law, or Compliance Management are an advantage.
- 5–8 years of relevant experience in Regulatory Affairs, Food Compliance, Nutrition, Quality, Scientific Affairs, or related functions, preferably within FMCG or regulated industries.
- Strong knowledge of Malaysian food legislation, labelling requirements, and regulatory frameworks.
- Experience supporting product development, regulatory assessments, compliance reviews, and stakeholder engagement.
- Experience engaging with government agencies, regulatory authorities, or industry associations is an added advantage.
