The purpose of our Lead Tactical Buying Specialist position is to ensure efficient and compliant execution of high-volume tail spend sourcing events while leading day-to-day operational coordination, coaching junior buyers, and continuously improve the Tactical Buying Team model. The role owns the Tactical Buying Team process playbook, supports complex events/escalations, and optimizes the Autonomous sourcing workflow to increase competitive coverage, cycle-time performance, and stakeholder satisfaction.

What we ask:

  • Bachelor’s or master’s degree in a relevant area (Supply Chain, Procurement, Accounting or Finance)
  • 3+ years of experience in PtP within an international and multicultural environment
  • Demonstrated experience running RFQs/RFPs, supplier negotiations (basic-to-intermediate), and stakeholder alignment
  • Strong familiarity with Coupa and sourcing workflows (Autonomous sourcing tool or any other sourcing tool experience is a strong advantage)
  • Fluent English (written & verbal)
  • Knowledge of ERP systems (SAP, Coupa)
  • Knowledge of Finance applications and processes is an advantage
  • Shared service experience is an added advantage

Vacancy description:

Senior Event Ownership & Escalation Handling: 

  • Execute complex/exception tail spend sourcing events (higher risk, sensitive stakeholders, limited supplier market, urgent timelines) 
  • Lead resolution of sourcing escalations (supplier disputes, evaluation conflicts, SLA breaches), ensuring decisions remain compliant and documented.  
  • Ensure awards and PR updates are accurate, complete, and auditable, enabling clean PR to PO conversion in Coupa

 

Operational Leadership (Tactical Buying Team “run the business”):

  • Plan and manage daily/weekly Tactical Buying Team workload, review events, balance capacity, and ensure SLA delivery on cycle time and throughput  
  • Monitor and drive key KPIs (cycle time, supplier response rate, competitive coverage, compliance, savings/value), identify trends, and implement corrective actions.  
  • Coach and quality-check junior buyers (event setup, supplier set quality, bid comparison logic, award documentation, appropriate communication with business)

 

Process, Policy & Continuous Improvement Ownership:

  • Build/maintain the Tactical Buying Team process playbook: intake standards, RFQ templates, evaluation guidance, communication standards, exception handling, and audit pack requirements. 
  • Identify bottlenecks and implement improvements across the end-to-end sourcing flow (request quality, supplier enablement, approvals, award turnaround)  
  • Drive governance routines with stakeholders (weekly operational review, monthly performance reviews, attends S2P calls, maintains lessons learned)

 

Tool Excellence (Autonomous sourcing tool embedded in Coupa):

  • Act as functional SME for Autonomous sourcing tool workflows and ensure the Coupa integration supports Tactical Buying Team needs (PR sync, supplier sync, award return, bundling/partial awarding, cancellation/archiving feedback) 
  • Lead adoption and best-practice usage of autonomous sourcing features such as auto-bundling, auto-sending, and auto-awarding (where enabled), including defining business rules and ensuring compliance guardrails
  • Partner with IT/tool owners and Autonomous sourcing tool customer success to improve configuration, templates, supplier grouping, and reporting

 

Stakeholder Management & Business Partnership:

  • Facilitate best-bid selection with the business; ensure transparent decision-making and trade-off articulation (cost/lead time/quality/risk)
  • Align Tactical Buying Team execution with Category strategies (preferred suppliers, framework agreements, diversity/compliance targets, Candex usage), ensuring tail spend sourcing supports broader procurement goals

  • Stable Tactical Buying Team operations with predictable SLA achievement 
  • High quality, compliant, auditable sourcing events, ensuring saving potential is realized as much as possible 
  • Increased competitive coverage and supplier participation 
  • Continuous improvement roadmap + adoption of automation features
