The Maintenance Mechanic is responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing plant equipment, utilities, and facilities to ensure safe, reliable, and efficient operations. This role supports continuous production by executing preventive and corrective maintenance activities while adhering to GMP, food safety, and EHS requirements.
As operational needs require, the Maintenance Mechanic may also perform Production Operator duties and must therefore demonstrate strong understanding of plant systems and processes.

Your Responsibilities
- Perform daily inspection rounds and complete assigned checklists for equipment in designated areas
- Execute scheduled and corrective maintenance work orders in a timely manner
- Install, assemble, test, and commission new equipment in compliance with all safety and regulatory requirements
- Inspect machinery for malfunctions using visual inspection, operational checks, and scheduled maintenance routines
- Troubleshoot and repair systems involving:
- Water, air, steam, electrical, gas, refrigeration
- Hydraulic and mechanical systems
- Utilize plant data and maintenance systems, including Outlook, Ivue, Historian, SAP, and Elicit
- Safely work with steam, hot water, and potentially hazardous materials in alignment with GMP and safety policies
- Support continuous improvement through proactive identification of reliability or safety issues
What We Ask
Education & Experience
- Technical degree preferred, with a minimum of 3 years of electrical work experience
- Industrial electrical background strongly preferred
- Electrical Technician Certification preferred
- Sanitary welding experience is a plus
Technical Knowledge & Skills
- Working knowledge of:
- Water systems, air systems, steam distribution
- Electrical distribution, boilers, wells
- Heat exchangers, welding, hydraulic and pneumatic systems
- Instrumentation (chart recorders, Watlows, sensors)
- Refrigeration systems
- Experience with process systems, including:
- Dryers, evaporators, filtration systems
- UF/NF, MF/RO systems
- HTSTs, infuser, reactor, dry blender
- PLC experience (upload, download, basic ladder logic)
- Functional computer skills, including Microsoft Office

- Report directly to the Maintenance Manager
- Work closely with Production, Quality, and EHS teams
- Contribute as a hands-on team member supporting plant reliability and safety

- Communicate clearly and professionally with colleagues and leadership
- Demonstrate punctuality and ensure coverage of responsibilities when absent
