Within the Technology Department of FrieslandCampina Borculo, we drive the ongoing development of our factory. In the coming years, this leading production site will further develop into a smart, sustainable and future‑ready dairy factory. We do this by investing purposefully in new products, continuously improving our production processes and expanding our capacity.

In this complex and dynamic environment, we are looking for a driven and proactive Senior Technology Specialist with a focus on NPD implementations, CapEx projects and process innovation.

What we ask:

• A relevant MSc or BSc degree (Process Technology, Chemical Engineering, Food Technology or comparable).
• Extensive experience in a similar technological role within the chemical, food or feed industry.
• A strong technological foundation in process technology, including the specification, design and implementation of processes, combined with a clear technical affinity.
• Experience with NPD projects, plant trials and implementation in a production environment.
• Strong analytical skills, with the ability to translate complex process data into concrete improvement initiatives.
• Proven experience in complex troubleshooting and executing root cause analyses to resolve issues sustainably.
• The ability to manage internal and external stakeholders at various levels.
• Experience contributing to strategic decision‑making.
• A communicative, proactive and collaborative technologist who takes ownership and provides direction to multidisciplinary teams.
• Proficiency in the Dutch language.

• Salary between €5.280 and €7.166 gross per month (full-time), depending on experience and fit for the role;
• A workweek of 32 to 38 hours, a 5% year-end allowance, 12,5% bonus, 8% holiday allowance and a pension scheme;
• Travel allowance: a train card and/or €0.23 per km (max. 30 km one way);

Vacancy description:

As a Senior Technology Specialist, you are responsible for the technological realization of new products, process introductions and investment projects at our Borculo site. You act as the connecting link between Operations, QA, R&D and Engineering, ensuring that product concepts are translated into robust, efficient and safe production processes.

In this role, you will:

• Lead the implementation of new products: from concept, pilot and plant trials through to validation and sustainable embedding.
• Translate product specifications from R&D into process conditions, functional requirements and factory impact.
• Coordinate and participate in engineering‑related projects such as process changes, new installations and modifications.
• Analyze and structure process data to identify bottlenecks, variability and optimization opportunities.
• Ensure solid documentation, process ownership and structured handover to guarantee sustainable and compliant execution.
• Operate comfortably between strategy and operations, contributing to the technological direction while remaining closely connected to production to identify and realize optimizations.

As a Senior Technology Specialist, you will be part of the Technology team in Borculo, consisting of approximately 20 FTE. You work closely with Operations, QA, OT, the central R&D and Engineering departments. You report to the Manager Technology.
