Job Description Header: 

The Intern is responsible for developing and maintaining operator competency frameworks, overseeing skill assessments, and driving workforce development initiatives. The role focuses on identifying competency gaps, coordinating training programs, and collaborating with Production and cross-functional stakeholders to strengthen operational capabilities. In addition, the position supports Operational Excellence (OPEX) and continuous improvement efforts by fostering a culture of continuous learning and skill enhancement.

The job location is based in Bandar Enstek, Negeri Sembilan.

Job Description: 

We are seeking a proactive, detail-oriented, and highly organized individual to drive operator competency development and workforce capability enhancement. This role is responsible for managing the Operator Competency Framework and Skill Matrix, coordinating competency assessments, identifying skill gaps, and supporting targeted development initiatives. Working closely with Production, Learning & Development (L&D), and cross-functional stakeholders, the incumbent will play a key role in building a skilled workforce, ensuring competency standards are met, and supporting Operational Excellence (OPEX) and continuous improvement initiatives.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop, implement, and maintain the Operator Competency Framework and Skill Matrix (Skill Levels 0–4) to ensure alignment with operational requirements.
  • Partner with Production and cross-functional teams to define, review, and update competency standards and qualification requirements.
  • Facilitate stakeholder discussions and periodic reviews to ensure alignment and consistency of competency requirements across departments.
  • Plan, coordinate, and monitor operator competency assessments to evaluate workforce capability and readiness.
  • Collaborate with assessors and subject matter experts to ensure assessments are conducted effectively, consistently, and in accordance with established standards.
  • Consolidate, analyze, and report assessment results to provide insights into workforce competency levels and development needs.
  • Identify competency gaps and coordinate the implementation of targeted development and upskilling plans.
  • Work closely with the Learning & Development (L&D) team to design, coordinate, and track training programs that address identified competency gaps.
  • Monitor training participation, completion, and effectiveness to ensure learning objectives and competency targets are achieved.
  • Maintain accurate competency, assessment, and training records, and prepare reports to support workforce planning and management decision-making.
  • Support Operational Excellence (OPEX), continuous improvement, and capability-building initiatives that enhance workforce performance, productivity, and operational effectiveness.
  • Contribute to the development of a culture of continuous learning, employee growth, and operational excellence across the organization.
