As Commodity Risk & Trading Manager, you play a pivotal role in managing commodity price risk across global dairy markets. Employment benefits:
- Salary between €5,250 and €7,500 gross per month (full-time), depending on experience and fit for the role.
- A work week of 38 hours, a 5% year-end allowance, 12,5% bonus, 8% holiday allowance and a pension scheme.

Vacancy Description
As Commodity Risk & Trading Manager, you support and gradually take ownership of commodity price risk management activities across FrieslandCampina’s global dairy portfolio. The role combines trading execution, risk analytics, systems development and commercial solution design.
Financial Trading Support & Market Monitoring
- Support the execution of financial hedges (futures, options, forwards) in line with CPRM strategy
- Monitor global dairy commodity markets across CME, EEX, SGX and Euronext
- Manage positions, margins and contract lifecycles
- Ensure accurate trade capture, reconciliation and reporting
- Gradually increase responsibility in trade preparation and execution
Commercial Risk Solutions & Business Support
- Partner with Sales to develop customer‑oriented price risk management solutions
- Structure contracts with embedded hedging and optionality
- Translate financial instruments into commercially viable pricing mechanisms
- Participate in customer meetings and support commercial negotiations
- Train and support Sales teams on risk management concepts
- Contribute to positioning FrieslandCampina as an industry‑leading risk management partner
Risk Analytics, Reporting & Systems Development
- Own and enhance exposure, MTM, VaR and sensitivity calculations
- Ensure alignment between physical and financial positions
- Prepare and maintain CPRM dashboards and risk reporting
- Develop scenario analysis and forward‑looking risk insights
- Drive improvements in CTRM systems, analytics, automation and data quality
- Actively challenge existing processes, methodologies and controls
You will join the Commodity Price Risk Management (CPRM) team and report to the Director Commodity Risk Management. The team works closely with Commercial teams, Finance, Treasury and senior Management, and interacts externally with customers, brokers, financial institutions, exchanges and system providers.
