We are looking for a Technical Manager EMEA with a strong pharmaceutical formulation background (API and excipients) combined with commercial acumen and stakeholder management skills to support our customers and drive business growth across the EMEA region.

What we ask

In this role, you will act as the technical linking pin between customers, the EMEA Sales team, and DFE Pharma’s Global Technical & Innovation (GTL) organization. You will support formulation-related customer challenges, drive and manage the EMEA project pipeline, contribute to strategic technical initiatives, and strengthen DFE Pharma’s position as a trusted technical partner in the market.

 

You will collaborate closely with Sales Managers, Product Application specialists, Innovation teams, and Regulatory Affairs colleagues globally, while representing DFE Pharma externally at customer meetings, seminars, and industry conferences.

 

  • M.Sc. or PhD (preferred) in Pharmacy, Chemistry, Biochemistry, Biology, Pharmaceutical Technology, or a related scientific field; MBA or additional business education is a plus
  • Minimum 10–15 years of experience in the pharmaceutical and/or excipient industry, preferably in formulation development and customer-facing technical support
  • Strong formulation knowledge in pharmaceutical excipients and oral solid dosage forms; DPI experience is a plus
  • Technical Sales, Marketing, or Business Development experience is considered a strong plus
  • Commercial mindset with the ability to identify, develop, and advance business opportunities and customer project pipelines
  • Experience managing pipelines, KPIs, and customer portfolios, with the ability to support and challenge Sales Managers on opportunity development
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and listening skills to understand customer challenges and translate them into practical, scientifically sound solutions
  • Strong stakeholder management, presentation, and communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively in a global matrix organization
  • Experience facilitating technical seminars, customer trainings, and representing the company externally as a technical expert and thought leader
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and drive execution with a high standard of excellence
  • High proficiency in English (spoken and written); additional European languages are considered a plus
  • Willingness to travel within the EMEA region (estimated 40–50%)

Vacancy description

  • Manage the EMEA pipeline and take ownership of pipeline KPIs, including opportunity creation, progression, and closure
  • Support and challenge EMEA Sales Managers on pipeline development and strategic customer opportunities
  • Maintain Salesforce dashboards and ensure pipeline data is accurate and up to date
  • Support the EMEA commercial team through joint customer visits, technical seminars, formulation support, and distributor training
  • Advise customers on formulation development, troubleshooting, processing, and regulatory-related technical challenges
  • Promote DFE Pharma’s technical agenda and thought leadership through conferences, seminars, and customer engagement activities
  • Act as the technical linking pin between the EMEA Sales organization and Global Technical & Innovation (GTL) teams
  • Share market trends, customer feedback, and technical developments with internal stakeholders and support technical onboarding and training within the EMEA team
  • Support global technical and strategic initiatives such as Continuous Manufacturing, Grade Finder, Nitrosamine Tool, Concept Selling, and Customer Segmentation
  • Build strong relationships with customer technical teams and contribute to the growth of DFE Pharma’s future business pipeline in the EMEA region
